It was his first run--not ever, but the first in so long it felt like it had all those years ago when he'd been just a pup, a tiny chasing after his brothers' heels. Moving from the family home to the big city for university was something he'd been excited about for years. He was growing up, trekking out on his own and busting out into the world. Sure, it meant leaving his familial pack behind to do it, but Hunk was there! Between the two of them they had enough space to mark off their own dens rooms in their shared apartment, and while Hunk was definitely the bigger and stronger wolf between the pair of them, he was the perfect overly-cautious counterbalance to Lance's impulsive and excitable energy.

Energy which led him to a lush trail in a city park at eleven o'clock at night, bounding through underbrush with tongue lolling like a jackrabbit, overwhelmed by the scent trails and markings and unable to decide which to chase and follow next. It had been so long since he'd let loose and really gone for a run like this, shedding stylish clothes in favour of a lush brown pelt and four long, gangling limbs. He was by no means the hulking beast of a wolf that Hunk was when transformed, but that worked in his favour.

Humans still frequented the paths and trails long after dark, but if he happened to run into them? He could just play the part of the big, lovable, friendly stray. No biggie, right? It's not like there were any actual wolves staking out the area.
